Working with Michael Main, a RNLI approved contractor, Colin Holman of Holman Specialist Paints produced a detailed painting specification for timber clad walls, timber windows and metal main doors and roof of the Mumbles lifeboat station.
Throughout the whole process the RNLI were explicit about ensuring a very high level of performance from our products and obtaining the best value from their investment. The RNLI approach being that the charitable money they save in not having to repaint the station every two years is far better spent investing in equipment and materials that directly saves lives.
The exposed nature of the Station made our products perfectly suited for this project. VALTTI Ultra was used on the large surface areas of timber, VALTTI Miranol on the metal work and VALTTI Repco on the roof. With this combination of products we would expect to see no degradation of the topcoat for at least 9-10 years.
Holman Specialist Paints were very proud to be approached by the RNLI to specify products for use on the historic Mumbles Lighthouse in South Wales.
